"The Sky's the Limit in OIL COUNTRY" Limited Edition Print
This drawing was inspired by the youth and excitement of The 2011 Edmonton Oilers, the rich history of the team and the strength of their fan base. With the young Oilers' strong start to the 2011 season, one could not help but reminisce about the dynasty of the 1980s led by a youthful Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey and Fuhr. Captured in the left and center sky are these five Oiler greats hoisting the Oilers' 5 Stanley Cups. In the right sky, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins lead the team into what many faithful fans expect should be a strong future. The powerful Wayne Gretzky statue welcomes fans to Northlands/Skyreach/Rexall Place. Each fan drawn in this piece is based on a real fan witnessed by Jeremy Bresciani as he walked to a game in Edmonton. Fan jerseys numbers represent some of the top players throughout Oilers' history.
