This piece captures the feeling of being a Blue Jays’ fan on game day as fans walk toward both the Exhibition Stadium (left) and Rogers Centre (right). I merged the two stadiums to capture the complete history of the team. Ghosted in the sky above the stadiums are eight of the many great players that have captured the hearts of Jays' fans through each era since their inaugural season in 1977. From left to right: Dave Stieb, George Bell, Tony Fernandez, Roberto Alomar, Joe Carter, Carlos Delgado, Roy Halladay and Jose Bautista. Fan jersey numbers pay tribute to these players as well as many more, while also representing all incarnations of jersey design throughout Jays' history. Current Jays’ mascot, Ace, welcomes fans to the game on the right. The flag flying in front of Exhibtion Stadium bears the Jays’ original logo. The black flag flying in front of the Rogers Centre bears their redesigned logo used from 2004-2010. The blue flag flying in front of the Rogers Centre bears the Jays’ current logo, a refined version of their classic look. A fan on the right is wearing a t-shirt with the phrase, “I still call it Skydome”, referring to the original stadium name most Jays’ fans still associate with the Rogers Centre. A fan on the left bears an “OK Blue Jays” tattoo which pays tribute to the song played during the seventh-inning stretch of home games.
